New shoes.

Yeap. i’m wearing a new pair of boots for my office shoes. This pair is to replace the one that has been stolen by some idiots at my house. To be honest, I am not that brand conscious kind of guy as I will wear anything that I deem comfy for me. So wifey bought for me a pair of Kenneth Cole’s boot from Reaction Series (whatever that mean). And this boot was flown all the way from New York / Texas to KL (and of cause from wifey’s “so called business connection).

Anyway thanks to wifey, I think this is the best present for this year ;)

Sick

Yeah. All of this started from wifey when she had flu + running nose and me with my big mouth gave some wise ass remark like,

“You ni lembik la, asik dapat flu je. ” – “You are such a weak person

And as a result, it is my turn to suffer the sore throat, headache, running nose, coughing and a touch of fever as well. And thankfully I have a wonderful wifey who willing (or not I dun know ;P) to take over some of my tasks on putting Adam to sleep. Usually Adam will only sleep if I lay beside him and give some soft pats on his buttock while Ariff requires wifey to cuddle him closely or he will start screaming and refuse to sleep.

Speed recovery is a must or I’ll end up doing nothing at the office (Heck I can’t even think properly and lil bit weak due to the lost of my appetite :P )

Just a piece of advice … to wifey

Posted by ayoi | wifey | Monday 7 January 2008 3:22 pm

Wifey told me about her conversation with her soon to be left employer which come to the point when her boss ask her whether the goals set by the future company achievable or not. She did reply that last year the department that she will be joining soon over hit their quotas or over achieve. Well her boss just retorted with “Last year was a good year”.

In my opinion, that remark is lil bit not that too professional. Why? Because first of all still a proper unit cohesion, planning, organization and execution of the plan required to achieve(or over achieve in this case) whatever goals. So for wifey roles in her new company soon, she needs to plan, organizing, controlling, commanding and co-ordinating (as far as I remembered my Management Principles subjects).

Okay, basically the roles that I’ve mentioned above is the summarize of th 14 Henri Fayol’s Management Principles. So for wifey what she has to do (again) is:

PLAN = Examining the future and preparing the action plan. The element of strategy. So reading financial /budget report/forecast is a must for wifey :) )

ORGANIZE = build up structure, material and human resource

COMMAND = To maintain the activity among the personnel

COORDINATE = Binding together, unifying and harmonizing all activity and effort.

CONTROL = Seeing that everything occurs in conformity with established rules and expressed command.

Wifey is entering a new era of challenges, work scopes and responsibilities where her judgment or decision will has impact on her unit or department. I wish her a very best of luck and yeah, it is my responsibility also to support or assists her in term of some advice or perhaps just be a good listener.

But there’s no way I want to read those financial/budget reports or forecast and give wifey the summary.
