Oh yeah.. Back in May 2008, I had one minor surgery on my forehead to remove one small lump that will spurt blood on the slightest touch. Ok not spurting blood but it will bleed and took some time to stop. In fact there was one time that I’ve spent around 15 to 20 minutes in the toilet watching the blood dripping into the toilet bowl (OK I just wanna test how long it would take for the bleeding to stop). So I’ve decided for that lump to be surgically removed.

Of cause for every surgery will leave you one nice scar. For me as I had approx. 11 stitches on my forehead and at that time I do feel like Frankenstein. I have to admit that whenever I look at the mirror every morning either for brushing my teeth or trimming my beards, sometimes I did cover the surgery wound with my hand.

Soon after the stitches were removed, it leaves one nice long trench on my forehead and I did notice that my eyebrows were not aligned to each other. My left eyebrow was lil bit higher than the right one (thank God that my eyes are still in its original place hehehe). Well it was lil bit awkward when the first thing that people that I met fixed their eyes on  or asking was my scar.

“You had a fight kah?”

“You had a gang fight eh?”

“Your twins are soo naughty eh?”

“You just upgrade your memory?” -> one of my colleagues question..

But as the time passed by, I’m getting used to that kind of questions (minus the last one) as for me nothing will change lor and from time to time I just simply ignore the existence of that scar.

Until one fine day when wifey approach me and said,

“You already know that my stretch marks mostly gone rite?”

“Yeah.. It’s nice to actually feel that I’m touching the stomach instead of car tyre surface  whenever I touch your stomach.”

“Good. Now lets try on your operation scar.”

“What? Later on lah.. I’m watching Sopranos now and I’ll do it later. Can?”

“Just sit quietly and let me do on your operation scar.”

“Later lah..”

“Quiet and watch your Sopranos.”

“Err OK”

And that’s the start of everything. My scar really lighten up and on the next time, it’s me who asking wifey,

“Where’s your machine eh? Err I want to do on my scar.”

And after few times this is the result.

Recently one of my friends performed penetration testing on one of our client’s networks. Well most of the times the penetration testing will be done based on “white box” testing technique and yeah sometimes the client of cause request “black box” technique as well. And sometimes we just performed both of these techniques also. During the “black box” session, he mentioned that it seems that this particular client has some sort of content filtering device or mechanism that managed to block most of his attack assessment techniques. I assume that this client has an IPS installed on their network. No, this is not IPS bashing posting from me OK?

One of the best tv series I ever watched. Currently showing at HBO channel. Already season 6 and yeah I will definitely get the DVD collection in the future…

A good relief from the stressed and yeah with the current problems on top of my head..

Patience and hopefully like I always prayed for, we will have a good second half of this year… To wifey, stay focus eh

It is quite difficult when people failed to realize that there are times when you can be their friends and there are also times that we do need to be professional when doing our works. Accountability, credibility must be taken into account when executing our daily tasks. Be responsible on every tasks entrusted to you by the management. Sometimes we do not see the mistakes or the flaws in the process of completing our tasks hence we need somebody to point out these mistakes and provide the better way of completing the tasks without compromising the quality of the result.

Nowadays, either people are getting lazier than before or the technology is becoming too convenient  for us. We used to go to the bank for financial matters, to respective utility companies for settling our monthly utility bills, go to the shop/mall for shopping. Now everything (mostly) can be done via click of the mouse. In fact wifey once bought  traditional food/cookies via internet and that goodies were sent via Pos Laju. By the time we receive that particular parcel, I think some of the cookies were not in their original shape and crushed

I think somewhere around January, I did mention to my colleagues on the possible rise of cybercrime cases due to the world economy crisis. There will be more spam email than before, more phising emails than before and yes, this time the target has been shifted to client or user side Why? Because it is a “lucrative”, often overlooked, less controlled and high in numbers. Instead of controlling few servers in that particular organisation (and difficult as well because most of the times these servers will be highly protected, monitored as those machines are in the high priority list ) why not just concentrate on the users. 1% of let say 1000 users is not bad eh? My friend mel posted one of the trick of misleading the users at security.org.my
