Is a new laptop. Yeah. I want a new laptop. Currently my ‘ol workhorse lappy Compaq V3000 showing some tendency of sloppiness and sometimes I need to restart my lappy (sometimes when I try to do some demo with my VMwares in my training) which is embarrasing.

Initially yeah, I want a MacBook Pro but after recent events, I need to downgrade my lappy requirement. Like wifey said, “when the time comes for you to use MacBook Pro, you will get your wish to have a MacBook Pro.”

Such an encouraging words from wifey.

And yes, I am using my personal lappy for work. I am more comfortable with that as at the end of the day it is my own lappy and I dun have to return it back to the company. Unless my company willing to buy a lappy (MacBook Pro would be better ;P) for me and let me buy it back later, then I would be more than happy. For this moment, I dun think it would happen tho

So for my future lappy, all I need is:

a). A good size of memory and of cause with faster Bus speed. 4GB with 800MHz would be very very nice

b). A good processor. OK now I think I should switch to Intel. Perhaps Intel Centrino 2 would be good.

c). Large HDD space. I think for current market, most of the lappy will have at least 100GB for default HDD. So 250 or 300 GB HDD will be just nice

d). Blue tooth. I dun have to use a blue tooth USB to enable remote control during presentation. Yeah I used this USB Blue tooth that will make my Sony Ericsson’s k800i as a remote during recent training. So I dun have to go back and forth to switch slides and it’s pretty handy.

e). All others basic stuff. DVDRW, card reader, LAN port etc.

Any model that you recommend? And maybe the budget is from RM 2000 to RM 4000. I am not that rich ya know..
