Yeap, August is the month. It seems that my car falls apart in this month. Coincidently that we bought this car also in August last 4 years. I think that my car get this idea to make the month of August every year as the month of pampering. And of cause the “pampering” requires a bucket load of money.

First, the break pad need to be replaced. Funny when the first time I heard the screetching noise, I just told wifey “perhaps there’re some rocks stuck at our wheel.” Actually that statement con be considered as attempt-to-ignore-the-problem. And the screetching noise became louder every single day. So before I have any problem with the Law Enforcemen because of the loud noise that can consitute as disrupting public (who knows rite due to the current situation), I decided to change the brake pad. The cost? RM85. Pretty cheap compared to the previous one that costs me RM 170.

Then in this month I also need to renew my road tax and insurance which automatically will deduct quite large sum amount of money from our bank account. Thanks to wifey for her contribution (actually the insurance and road tax were paid by her, that’s why I need to give back the fuel rebate to her.)

As my car is still using timing belt, so the time to change that critical part has arrived. So if I want to send it to the authorized service center, the cost will be RM 550 - RM 600 which is not cheap. I did ask one shop and they are more than happy to charge me a total of RM 400 - RM 500. Yeah it is not that cheap but as long as the total charge is below the ones charged by the Authorized service center, it is fine with me.

On top of that, yesterday, after having dinner with wifey at one mamak restaurant in Kinrara, my car refused to start and yes, suddenly the battery decided to resign from its current job which means I need to find a replacement. Of cause with no workshop nearby (if there is I do believe it has already closed) wifey decided to call one of her friend to help. And her friend, actually her officemate more than happy to lend us his car for our usage (going back home and going back to Kinrara this morning). So to Mr. Lawrence, I would like to say thousands of thank you to you for your kindness. Without your help, I just dun know how long me and wifey stranded there. We owe you our gratitude. And I will never ever send my car to the “mechanic” who promised to meet us at Kinrara at 10 am but failed to show up until 11.30 am. That’s final. Oh yeah, the battery change and we decided to have this zero maintenance battery installed which costs us RM 330.

And finally the car air conditioner seems like to have its own mind and its own working hour. It will decide itself when to start and when to shut itself down. I dun know whether it’s about the compressor, the condensor or any other stuff, but thankfully the mechanic managed to identify the probable culprit and replace it. So know the car air conditioner work perfectly. (Lol now I know why my brother’s car’s air conditioner is cooler than mine). Cost? I need to check with wifey as she has the bill.

ANd this month we have our family vacation to Jakarta. I told wifey,

“sightseeing only is not a bad thing”
