First of all, the picture that I’ve published on previous post.. It was taken back in 1994. When I was still young and a lil bit naive. Just 18 years old ma.. Hehehe..
Anyway past few months, I was invited to give a talk during the UiTM’s i-Hack 2008 event this coming August. I have few topics in my mind and as the majority of the audience will be students, I decided to pick on either Cyber Attack Phases: Why you need to know and Fundamental Security Requirement: The Policies. I’ve worked on the presentation slides on both of the topics and then something came up.
I’ve been selected to lead a new unit where from this unit’s new tasks and roles, it seems that I will have my hands full till the end of the year. Hence I stopped my slides work and start doing some planning etc on the new unit. In that sense I have to notify/inform one of the organizer’s representative that sadly I just can not make it for the event. Anyway my friends geek00l and mel will give their talks on that event. Maybe I can give mine next year. Maybe.
Time passes by and even though sometimes I do have some regrets of not be able to give my talk to that event, I do feel grateful for that withdrawal. My hands are really full with plenty of tasks. I have series of training to our client’s this August as well where I need to do some adjustment on the contents and the slides as well and it will take a plenty of my time. I also decided to produce at least one article per month for our department which I think doable. Then I also need to revice the Network Security training syllabus and modules which involves the training slides as well and yes.. I need to complete the training series for our own staff knowledge enhancement aspect. It will have system administration trainings, Network fundamental (perhaps), Network Security trainings and maybe I will include Incident Handling training as well.
And those above doesn’t include the research that I plan or have to execute. Either on increasing the efficiency of Gb Ethernet network sniffing, IDS rules policy and its deployment, or evaluating other suitable technology. And I didn’t mention about the procedures and policies 
I do have some plan of having a good unit team members. Either from internal promotion or from hiring exercise. The pay will be not that much BUT if you have the interest, the passion, the urge to go beyond your limits, then you are my guy or gal. From time being? It is quite difficult to have that but I do pray that someday I will find the right people either man or woman.
