Indeed, IDS/IPS is useless if we can't see the context. Once the context is understood, come the next challenge - what to do with it?, I guess this is where the IDS/IPS vendor make money - sell their product to that manager who can articulate/examine the context into actions (remedies?). bla..bla..bla.. :) interesting post.
