Sorry for the copy and paste items from these sites. To be honest, I’m getting tired, fed up, amazed of these so called consultants who failed to understand that their job is to consult where in order to consult you need to have some degree of knowledge/skills or experience on that particular field. A general overview knowledge for me is sufficient enuff as long as you can consult, advice, discuss with the person who seek for this consultation.
Let say you’re in a meeting where this company is doing some presentation on their software performance testing product. Of cause that will be presented by the Senior Consultant of that particular product. During the Q&A session when you ask the CONsultant whether he/she ever heard about any similar product like HP’s Load Runner and he/she replied, “Never heard of it” (I believe when ever you develop an product/software, of cause you will try to find if there’s any similar product exists in the market or at least you try to benchmark your software or product against the well known ones. Agree?)
OR when you ask about the effectiveness and the robustness of the product and the CONsultant just replied,
“ We’ve done the testing obviously”
“How many times did you perform the testing?”
“Just once.”
Cool eh? And when the Senior CONsultant seems to stumble, stuttered and sometimes took a quite some time to answer some basic or common questions about his or her product, are you convinced enuff to buy from this particular company?
I believe consultants also need to have good communications and presentation skills as most of the times the consultation will be done in face to face manner either in unicast, multicast or broadcast type of communication
How do you feel when the moment you give your web application source codes to this Consultant for review, the only reply that you get is
“Your code is too complex.”
“What should I do then?”
“I don’t know.”
Especially when this type of replies are from Special Consultant. Yeah Special CONsultant that is
so you were serious on blogging what we talk bout on “that morning” hahahaha.
I told you. But as usual, read the “Disclaimer”
hahaha too true.
Speeking of consultant, in days of yore, people sought the guide of shaman or soothsayers to get the answer. By looking at stones and tiger’s teeth, he would enlighten the people. Modern consultants, I believe just rebanding of that.
