After the whole one week promising my daughters (wifey who promised them) that they can go to the cinema to watch Upin and Ipin’s movie, last weekend we managed to fulfill that promise even thought there are some unfortunate events occurred.

First when wifey try to book the tickets via phone, she told me that the movie is unavailable or not listed. I tried using Maxis’ Easy Access and the have the same result. Then I started to look at the newspaper and straight away I know why the movie is not in the list. Because we didn’t look the correct title of the movie. We look for “Upin and Ipin” while the actual name is “Geng:Pengembaraan Bermula” (Gang: The Adventure Begins” So me and wifey had a laugh on our ignorance.

Initially wifey planned to take the girls to watch the movie at KLCC. But then I reminded her that going to the cinema on Valentine’s Day is bad, bad move and that place will be crowded with lovebirds. So during dinner we decided to book the tickets at IOI Mall, Puchong because it’s near to our house. Instead of sending the Twins to Desa Pandan, they can stay at home. The problem is that wifey didn’t inform to our maid on the change of plan and when the time comes, our maid had prepared all the necessary items for the twins for Desa Pandan stay. Like it or not, we went back to the original plan. Watch the movie at KLCC and left the Twins at Desa Pandan…

Overall the movie surpassed my expectation for a movie produced locally especially the ones with 3D animation. OK there are aspects that need to be improved but as an adult, I do enjoy watching this movie. The story line is nice, I laugh most of the times as the humour elements injected in this movie really tickled both me and wifey and of cause my daughters as well. There are some scary parts that really make Iman squeezes my hand tightly (some of the scenes do get into my nerves as well). Anyway perhaps the singing parts can be removed though ;)

My hat off to the company behind this movie. Yes they did received some sort of help and support from the government but IMHO based on the result, they deserve all the help that they get. So to L’escopaque, I’m waiting for the sequel and I believe my daughters feel the same way as well.

And yes for the sequel, I will bring my own Upin and Ipin. ;)
