~WARNING~

This might be a lame post. This post may insult the intelligence of the geeks and nerds out there. So be warned ;)

Ok I know this is lil bit lame as perhaps most of you have known already… But what the heck, I just knew on the conversion method and I think I should post it as MAYBE in the future I might forgotten the method :P Anyway to my surprise, I did not lost the 8GB thumb drive that was given by wifey (reluctantly) but I just left it in my pants’ pocket AND my maid took that pants and wash it along with the thumb drive. To my surprise, the thumb drive is still in good condition :D

So, I decided to format this little nifty device using my WIMP Operating System.. You know, the lazy right click on F: Drive in My Computer window and select format thingy and surprise surprise, my WIMP Operating System decided to format my thumb drive with the old FAT32 File System.

Whoaa… Now I’m getting a lil bit confused.. The last time that I checked, my WIMP Operating system is eXPerience or eXPert (based on wikipedia here, it is eXPerience) Professional version and its using NTFS as its file system. I am sure that never once I’m using the ol 98 Version of my WIMP operating system on this laptop. Hmmm..

Thankfully, our WIMP operating system does have one built in application that enable us to convert the file system type from FAT32 to NTFS. The application name? Yup, like you’ve guessed it; convert.exe. How do I know? Another useful application in our WIMP operating system is cmd.exe and from cmd.exe you can issue a command which we will normally use when we are in trouble: help. :D

With that information, I used the useful application to convert the current file system for my thumb drive (FAT32) to NTFS which didn’t take that long for that process to complete. As the result? Now my thumb drive file system is NTFS instead of FAT32. So I can proceed of doing the thing which I wanted to do before. Create the TrueCrypt container inside my thumb drive :D

More about convert.exe? As you guessed it already, just type convert /? :D

Lame post? I’ve warned you nerds..(and geeks as well) ;)
