I received and email from my former colleague asking me to join his network at LinkedIn.com. After making sure that the email really from LinkedIn and really sent by my colleague, I then proceed to the LinkedIn.com page and surprise surprise when I was presented with this notice from LinkedIn.com

LinkedIn Will Be Back Soon

LinkedIn is currently unavailable while we make upgrades to improve our service to you. We’ll return around 8:30pm (PT) October 9th, 2008.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Thank you for using LinkedIn!

I do wonder what kind of service upgrades that they are trying to do? Perhaps people at Linkedln did attend the Toronto Security Conference (SecTor) that was held on last Oct, 6. And yeah even in the article at darkreading also give an example of how LinkedIn transfer the user session from encrypted channel to ‘ol plan http once the authentication was successfully completed. So maybe we can have fully encrypted session of LinkedIn from now on.

OR

Maybe the upgrading service has nothing to do with the Middler..
